Diabetes Capital to Care Capital

India carries 212 million people with Diabetes. The world's heaviest burden.
Our boldest opportunity.

The infrastructure exists. The specialists exist. What's missing is connected, accessible, evidence-based care. Good MD Foundation is building the movement to make metabolic health a national priority.

About Good MD

From the Diabetes Capital to the Care Capital of the World

India has earned a title no country should want: the Diabetes capital of the world. But titles can change. At Good MD Foundation, we are building a movement to ensure every Indian has access to connected, quality metabolic care.

The gap is not in medicine. The gap is in care — in how it is delivered, connected, and made accessible to every Indian.

Good MD Foundation is founded and guided by clinicians, educators, and thought leaders working at the frontlines of metabolic care in India — people who recognised a truth no individual consultation could solve: the crisis is systemic, and the response must be too.

We exist to close the gap — through professional education, community empowerment, research, and advocacy. Not as a clinic. As a foundation. A movement.

Our Vision

An India where metabolic health — from Diabetes and Obesity to Thyroid, PCOD, Fatty Liver, and beyond — is understood, prioritised, and accessible to every citizen, regardless of geography, income, or background.

Our Mission

To make quality metabolic healthcare accessible to every Indian — through professional education, community empowerment, research, and advocacy across the full spectrum of metabolic health.

The Name

Two Letters. One Mission.

Good MD isn't an abbreviation — it's a thesis. One letter for the crisis we meet first. Another for the vision we carry forward.

Metabolic Health Is More Than Diabetes

Good MD Foundation's work spans the full spectrum of interconnected metabolic conditions affecting Indians today. Obesity sits at the centre \u2014 and is often where prevention begins.

Priority Focus

Obesity — The Root of the Crisis

Obesity drives almost every other metabolic condition — Diabetes, Fatty Liver, PCOD, Hypertension, High Cholesterol, and more. Tackling Obesity isn’t cosmetic; it’s the single highest-leverage intervention in metabolic health. Good MD Foundation places Obesity counselling, education, and community support at the heart of every programme we run.

Diabetes

Type 2, gestational, and Prediabetes — prevention, education, and management support across all life stages.

Blood Pressure

Hypertension awareness, monitoring guidance, and lifestyle intervention support for sustained control.

High Cholesterol

Dyslipidaemia education and cardiovascular risk reduction through diet, activity, and adherence.

Fatty Liver

NAFLD is rising silently across India. Early identification, lifestyle intervention, and patient education.

Thyroid

Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism awareness, screening advocacy, and management education.

Uric Acid

Gout and Hyperuricaemia — dietary counselling, trigger identification, and long-term management.

PCOD

Polycystic ovarian disorder is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in Indian women. We focus on awareness and integrated care.

Osteoporosis

Bone health across ageing and menopause — screening, nutrition, and movement-based prevention.

What We Do

Seven Pillars of Impact

We work across education, community, research, advocacy, and technology to build a comprehensive response to India's metabolic health crisis.

India’s metabolic crisis cannot be fought by doctors alone. We build the workforce India needs through certification, continuing medical education, and specialised counsellor training across the full spectrum of metabolic health.

Featured

Certified Obesity Counsellor

A specialised certification focused on Obesity — the root cause of most metabolic conditions. Covers behaviour change, nutrition science, bariatric basics, and long-term weight management support.

Featured

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Accredited CME programmes for practising clinicians — monthly expert-led sessions, clinical case reviews, and updates on the latest guidelines across metabolic health. Credits recognised by leading Indian medical councils.

Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)

Multi-module certification for nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and allied health professionals.

Vaccine Counsellor Certification

Training allied health professionals to counsel patients on adult immunisation — an often-overlooked pillar of metabolic care, particularly for people with Diabetes and compromised immunity.

Advanced Metabolic Health Educator

Specialised track for experienced educators — Obesity, PCOD, NAFLD, Thyroid, and community programme design across the metabolic spectrum.

Frontline Health Worker Training

Simplified, multilingual modules for ASHA workers and primary care staff in rural and semi-urban settings.

Knowledge is the most powerful tool. We conduct workshops that reach communities where they are — in offices, schools, community halls, and health centres.

Featured

Diabetic Caregiver Support Programme

A dedicated support and education series for family members and caregivers of people living with Diabetes. Covers insulin administration, meal planning, foot care, recognising Hypoglycaemia, and the emotional weight of caregiving. Diabetes is a family condition — caregivers need support too.

Obesity & Weight Management Workshops

Community sessions demystifying Obesity as a medical condition — not a willpower issue. Nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, and behaviour change made accessible.

Community Metabolic Health Workshops

Understanding risk, reading lab reports, the Indian plate method, physical activity, stress management. In Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English.

School Health Programmes

Childhood Obesity prevention, healthy eating habits, and understanding family metabolic risk. Age-appropriate content for students and parents.

We create spaces for professionals, researchers, educators, policymakers, patients, and industry leaders to share knowledge and build collective responses to India’s metabolic crisis.

Annual Conference

India’s premier metabolic health conference — keynotes, panels, clinical workshops, poster presentations, and exhibition hall.

Regional Forums

City-level quarterly gatherings addressing region-specific metabolic health challenges and connecting local professionals.

Educator Meetups & Webinars

Monthly peer-support circles and a fortnightly podcast featuring expert interviews, case discussions, and research deep-dives.

We generate India-specific metabolic health research, because protocols developed for Western populations don’t always translate to the Indian context.

Metabolic Health Report

Our flagship annual publication — India-specific data on prevalence, treatment gaps, educator distribution, and system readiness across Diabetes, Obesity, Thyroid, PCOD, and more.

Research Focus Areas

Community-based prevention, Obesity interventions, nutritional studies for Indian diets, women’s metabolic health, urban vs. rural disparities.

Publications Database

Searchable repository of reports, white papers, position statements, clinical guidelines, and research briefs.

We work at the intersection of evidence and advocacy to push for systemic reforms in how India prevents, detects, and manages metabolic disease.

Recognising Obesity as a Disease

Advocating for India to formally recognise Obesity as a chronic medical condition, enabling insurance coverage, clinical pathways, and destigmatisation.

Universal Screening

Advocating for HbA1c, lipid panels, BMI, and Thyroid screening in all national health programmes from age 30.

Educator Recognition

Working towards formal recognition and career pathways for certified Diabetes and Obesity educators in the Indian healthcare system.

Advocacy Academy

Training healthcare professionals and community leaders to become effective health advocates.

India’s workforce is sitting on a metabolic time bomb. We partner with corporates to design evidence-based wellness programmes covering the full metabolic spectrum.

Workplace Obesity Programmes

Structured, confidential weight management programmes for employees — combining screenings, counselling, nutrition, and movement plans designed for desk-bound workforces.

Comprehensive Health Screenings

On-site screening drives covering glucose, HbA1c, lipid profiles, blood pressure, BMI, waist circumference, and Thyroid. Confidential personalised risk reports.

Workshops & Training

Expert-led sessions on nutrition, stress management, activity integration, and manager sensitisation to support employees with metabolic conditions.

Annual Wellness Report

Aggregated, anonymised data tracking metabolic trends, programme utilisation, and ROI metrics for your organisation.

Technology as the great equaliser. We leverage digital platforms, online communities, and organised screening camps to extend access far beyond clinic walls.
